Discounts for children and young people
The discount is granted for children younger than 15 and for young people between 15 and 19 who live in or whose municipality of residence is Turku, Kaarina, Raisio, Naantali, Lieto, Paimio or Rusko.
Children
The discount is granted for children younger than 15 who live in or whose municipality of residence is Turku, Kaarina, Raisio, Naantali, Lieto or Rusko. The card options are the value card and season ticket. Children’s cards are automatically updated to youth cards when the card holders turn 15.
Children under 7 can travel free of charge when accompanied by a paying passenger or a person who is transporting a child in a pushchair.
Young people
The discount is granted for young people between 15 and 19 who live in or whose municipality of residence is Turku, Kaarina, Raisio, Naantali, Lieto or Rusko. The card options are the value card, season ticket and Tupla card. Young people’s value cards, Tupla cards and season tickets are automatically updated to adult cards when the card holders turn 20.
Subsidised school trip card
Students of upper secondary schools and vocational institutions may apply for the school transport subsidy for their daily travel.
- In the Föli area, i.e. Turku, Kaarina, Raisio, Lieto, Naantali, Paimio and Rusko
school trips are free of charge for students eligible for free education if the distance to school is more than 7 kilometres one way. The price of the school transport subsidy card is EUR 0 / 30 days. - Students who are not entitled to free education can only receive school transport subsidy if their school trip is at least 10 kilometres one way. The price of the school transport subsidy card is EUR 40 / 30 days.
- Students are eligible for school transport subsidy if they travel the minimum specified trip at least 10 days per calendar month.
School pupil card
School pupil cards can be granted by the municipality of residence of a comprehensive school pupil under certain terms and conditions. The cards can be obtained by presenting a personal identity code at a service point. If a pupil’s right to school transport will continue for the next academic year, a new application will not be required as the card will be updated automatically.
Föli cards can be topped up with both season and value
You can top up both a season ticket and value on the same Föli card. You can choose whether to top up value or a new season in the Föli shop (Opens in a new tab), Föli-app or at service and charging points. If the card has both an active season ticket and value, it will primarily use the season ticket.
As one card can have both a season ticket and value, you can pay for your own trip with the season ticket and your friend's trip with value, for example. This is done by stamping the card on the reader on the bus twice. Discounted cards, such as student and senior cards, are personal and can only be used for the owner's trips.
Pushchairs on public transport
Persons who are travelling with a child in a pushchair may use the public transport in Turku free of charge. Room for pushchairs, prams and wheelchairs is available near the middle door. However, do not block access from other passengers.
The child does not need to be in the pushchair when boarding the bus or during travel. If this is the case, please ensure that the child remains seated on a bench safely. Please exit the bus together with the child or let the child exit first. The driver will not necessarily notice a child left alone in the bus via the mirrors.
