Stop information and infrastructure is being updated

In connection with the trunk line network, we announced that bus stop information and bus stop areas will be updated as well, including the construction of new roofing for bus stops. 

In weeks 45 and 46, the installation of bus stops at the Compass Hospital on Kiinamyllykatu will begin, after which work will move to Rehtorinpellonkatu. Bus stops have also been planned for Sirkkalankatu, the turning point on Urho Kulovaarankatu, and Pispalantie, among other locations. There are approximately 50 bus stop areas that will be improved throughout the city, some of which have already been completed. 

Individual infrastructure updates will be announced separately if installation and/or repair work affects normal traffic.

In addition, new e-paper timetable displays will be installed at 150 stops. The new timetable displays have higher contrast than the old ones and do not use backlighting, which improves their readability. E-paper does not reflect sunlight!
The new timetable displays will be installed primarily at stops along trunk lines, followed by stops on other lines. The goal is to replace all older versions of timetable displays with new ones and also to increase their number.
