Why do the buses sometimes fall behind their schedules?

The aim is to ensure that the timetables are as smooth as possible so that the drivers can drive in an unhurried and risk-free manner. Long wait times are generally avoided.

Sometimes a traffic accident or road work along the way can cause unusual congestion, causing the bus to fall behind schedule. Particularly slippery weather conditions can also cause bus delays. That being said, the delay is mostly only a few minutes and the bus usually catches up with the timetable by the next final stop.

The timetables are not prepared based on extraordinary conditions, because this would slow down traffic on normal days. Getting passengers to their destinations safely is more important than sticking to the timetable.
