Commuter vouchers are a handy way to provide employer-subsidised transport tickets. The vouchers work in the same way as lunch vouchers. Offering commuter vouchers will boost the company’s image and make the business more attractive as an employer. Bus commuters also get more exercise.
Employees utilise the electronic commuter vouchers either on their mobile phones or on separate travel cards. Electronic commuter vouchers are currently offered by Eazybreak Oy, Smartum Oy, Edenred Finland Oy and ePassi Payments Oy.
Eazybreak commuting benefit
The Eazybreak commuter voucher is an electronic voucher loaded to a mobile phone. The employer registers the employees in the Eazybreak Service, after which the employees are entitled to use the commuter vouchers as of the start date specified by the employer. The mobile voucher works in all mobile phones: the service is available via an application in smartphones and works with text messages in older mobile phones.
You can pay with Eazybreak at Föli’s customer service offices, the Monitori service point in Skanssi shopping centre, the service point in Naantali, Raisio Library, Matkahuolto service points, and R-kioski locations in the Föli area.
Smartum commute benefit
The Smartum commute benefit can be ordered through the employer’s Smartum online service. The money for commuting is added to the employee’s Smartum account, and transactions are made using a QR code on a mobile device. The employer may offer and load the commuter benefit for an entire year at a time or make it into a recurring monthly benefit, for example. The money added to the employee’s Smartum account will remain valid for 15 months from the moment it is added. Any money not used by the employee during the period of validity is returned to the employer’s Smartum account to be redistributed.
You can pay with Smartum at Monitori Market Square, the Monitori service point in Skanssi shopping centre, Raisio Library, Matkahuolto service points, R-kioski locations in the Föli area, and Stockmann department stores.
Edenred commuting benefit
The Edenred commuting benefit (previously called Ticket Transport®) is a personal and safe commuter benefit card. The employer can load the commuter benefit to this chip card online, using Edenred’s ordering and management tool. You can use the card to top up your personal travel card or pay for mobile tickets (of HSL and Föli, among other traffic services). The money that will be charged from the card is always the exact sum of the service. The card also supports contactless payment. Transactions made with the card are verified with a signature instead of entering a PIN code. With an Edenred commuter card, you can pay for loading your Föli card in the Fölishop (select Mastercard as the payment method) and in the Föli app (select Edenred as the payment method).
You can pay with Edenred at Föli’s service points, as well as R-kioskis.
ePassi is a mobile employment benefit payment instrument that enables you to pay on-site with a mobile application or by providing your mobile phone number. With ePassi, employers only pay in accordance with actual usage. The service is available for all mobile phones.
You can pay with ePassi at Monitori Market Square, the Monitori service point in Skanssi shopping centre, the service point in Naantali, Raisio Library, R-kioski locations in the Föli area, and Stockmann department stores.
Employer-subsidised transport tickets are an employee benefit that is entirely tax-exempt up to 3400 euros.
