Welcome to the world's easiest travel!

Starting on Wednesday 24 November 2021, you can also use a bank card, credit card or mobile device equipped with contactless payment to pay not only for your own trip but also for that of your companions. As a result of the reform, a children's single ticket can also be paid for using contactless payment. You can now also use the contactless payment feature to pay for other ticket products, such as cargo fees and 24-hour tickets.

How can a child buy a children's ticket using contactless payment?

  1. Before paying, tell the driver that you want to buy a children's ticket using contactless payment.
  2. Wait until ”1x Kertalippu 7-14v 1,50 €” (“1x Single ticket 7-14 yr €1.50" appears on the card reader.
  3. Take your card or mobile phone to the reader. Your ticket will be printed, and you can get it from the driver. If you are changing buses, show the QR code on the ticket to the lower part of the card reader.

How can I pay for a trip taken by more than one person?

  1. Tell the driver what kind of tickets and how many you want to buy.
  2. Wait until all the tickets that you are buying appear on the reader’s screen.
  3. Take your card or mobile phone to the reader. The tickets will be printed, and you can get them from the driver. If you are changing buses, show the QR code on the single ticket to the lower part of the card reader.

Note! The system does not calculate price ceilings for tickets paid for using contactless payment and that have been printed. Thus, price ceilings accrue only when a trip is paid as a normal contactless payment.

If you want to pay for others’ trips but, at the same time, accumulate the number of your own trips in order to make use of the price ceiling of the contactless payment, then you must pay for your own trip separately as a normal contactless payment by showing your card or mobile phone to the reader. In this case, no separate ticket will be printed for you. You can change buses by showing the card or mobile phone you use for contactless payment to the card reader on the bus.

Contactless payment in a nutshell

In Finland, Föli was the first bus service to introduce contactless payment in local transport. In doing so, we joined the very few international pioneers of EMV contactless payment technology.

When using contactless payment, the single ticket includes the right to change vehicles within two hours. The final price of the ticket is determined on the basis of the number of purchases and trips, so the passenger will get the most cost-efficient ticket. For example, if a customer purchases his/her third adult single ticket during the same day (the normal price would be 3 x 3 euros = 9 euros), the ticket purchased at the contactless payment rate will turn into a day ticket (8 euros).

Your bank account will be charged at the end of the day. Payments may be posted on a date different from the one on which you took your trip. You may be charged a single ticket, a daily ticket or a 7-day ticket.

If you make more than one trip within the single ticket’s two-hour transfer time, you will only be charged a single ticket price at the end of the day.

For the price of a one-day travel ticket, you can travel an unlimited number of times during one day. A seven-day ticket, in return, gives you an unlimited number of trips within one week. The ticket is valid until the end of service day (4 a.m.).

Some debit cards will be charged a cover reservation (€1-20). The amount and the timetable for the removal of the reservation are specific to the bank. We recommend that you contact your bank if you have any questions concerning cover reservations.
