The sale of tickets paid with cash was discontinued on Föli buses due to the coronavirus pandemic on 27 December 2021. The option to pay for tickets in cash on Föli transport will resume on 20 May 2022.

From Friday 20 May tickets for Föli busses can be paid for in cash. Waterbus transport will begin on Monday 23 May, and cash payment is also possible on waterbuses. At the same time, the price of tickets paid for in cash will increase. The price of a single ticket for adults paid for in cash will increase from €3 to €4 and the price of a single ticket for children will increase from €1.50 to €2. The price increase will not affect the prices of contact pay tickets, mobile tickets, single tickets and travel cards purchased from ticket vending machines or service points, meaning it will be easy to avoid the increase by using other payment methods.

The costs involved in bus and coach transport have increased by up to 7% since the current budget was drawn up. The price increase will compensate for the increase in transport costs and encourage customers to use contact payment and other payment methods. The additional income for public transport is approximately EUR 200,000-500,000 per year, depending on the amount of single tickets paid for in cash. Based on the sales data, we will be able to conclude whether maintaining the cash payment option will be necessary in the future and can make a decision on whether to keep the cash payment option in Föli transport.
