Föli’s water buses for this summer are m/s Ruissalo and m/s Jaarli

A decision has been made to make Föli’s water bus service a permanent service, and the summer 2018 operating period of the water buses will begin on 21 May 2018. This year, the water bus service will be provided with two vessels, m/s Ruissalo and m/s Jaarli. This will allow for more frequent departures than last year, when the service was provided with a single vessel. Last summer, the service was operated with m/s Ruissalo alone. The new vessel, M/s Jaarli, is coming to Turku all the way from Mikkeli.

The water bus service will run from the Aura River to Ruissalo and Pikisaari between 21 May and 2 September 2018. In addition, the water bus service will operate on the September weekends of 7–9 September and 14–16 September.

The water buses are part of Föli’s transport services

The fares match those of regular bus transport. For example, a single ticket costs €3 for an adult and €1.50 for a child. You can buy a single ticket aboard the water bus. You can also use your travel card to pay for the water bus ride: the sum charged from your card matches that of a regular bus ride. A season ticket allows for unlimited water bus travel. You can also load your travel card aboard the water bus. The usual two-hour right of transfer to other Föli transportation applies to single tickets and value cards.

The only difference from the regular bus fares is that no extra fee is charged for bicycles on the water bus.

Timetable planning in progress

The water bus service’s timetables, precise route and stops are still being planned and will be published as soon as possible. For updated water bus information, please visit foli.fi/en/water-bus.
