Föli abandoned the use of cash for the duration of the state of emergency as of 27 March 2020. Later, the decision’s link to the state of emergency was changed and it was decided that cash would be abandoned until the end of May.

Cash payment on buses will become possible as of 1 June 2020 as Föli’s operation and services begin to normalise. Also loading you travel cards on the bus will be possible. Föli traffic will return to almost normal schedules on the same day. Night-time traffic will begin, line 8 will run more frequently on weekdays and Kuhankuono can also be reached on weekdays with lines 21 and 23. The exceptions to this are lines 1 and 300, which have reduced departures during peak hours.

The Föli Service Office will be open according to normal opening hours: 8 am–6 pm on weekdays and 9 am–2 pm on Saturdays. The telephone service and chat will continue with extended service hours: 8 am–6 pm on weekdays and 9 am–3 pm on Saturdays.

Even though cash payments will be accepted on buses, we still recommend that passengers pay for their journey in other ways, such as a travel card or mobile ticket, and load their travel cards in the Föli shop for example. The first rows of benches in buses will still be kept out of use.

Unlike other traffic, the water bus service that started on Monday 25 May 2020 started accepting cash as soon as the water bus service started.
