Apply for school transport subsidy from 1 August and receive a Finnkino movie and snacks voucher!

Students at vocational schools and upper secondary schools in the Föli area can apply to the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA) for a school transport subsidy to help cover the cost of their travel to and from school. To be eligible for the subsidy, the student’s one-way trip from home to school must be at least 10 kilometres. You can print the application form on the Kela website, or collect it from your school or Kela. A separate application for a school transport subsidy must be submitted for each academic year. Only one application may be submitted per academic year. The Föli area includes Turku, Kaarina, Raisio, Naantali, Lieto and Rusko.

The student’s application is reviewed by the educational institution, after which the student is provided with a purchase voucher (see the forms section) for school trip tickets. Students must have the purchase voucher form with them when they visit the Föli service point.

A subsidised school trip card is a 30-day season ticket. Föli is encouraging students to apply for subsidised school trip cards by providing students that apply for the card from 1 August 2018 with a Finnkino movie and snacks voucher. The snacks voucher is delivered electronically either to the mobile phone number or e-mail address specified on the application approximately within 1–1.5 months of submitting the application. If the applicant would prefer paper vouchers, they must specify this on the application.
